描述
The ASE5 is a 5 mm outdoor fixed LED display in a 960 × 960 × 100 mm cabinet — 192 × 192 resolution per cabinet, more than 4,000 nits, refreshed at 1,920 Hz. It is built for walls people walk past at street level — mall entrances, retail fascias, restaurant fronts. The ASE is the value cabinet in the outdoor fixed range: same 960 mm chassis and same pixel grid as the ASL, with a lighter IP43 enclosure and a single-voltage supply. It is the right order when the wall already has shelter and the budget is being spent on screen area rather than on sealing.
Key Features
- 5 mm pitch, 36,864 pixels per cabinet: a 192 × 192 grid in a 960 mm cabinet, so the picture resolves from about 5 m outward and the cabinet count for a given wall stays low.
- 4,000 nits: readable in daylight at the viewing distance this pitch is meant for, without the power draw of a 6,000-10,000 nit rental cabinet.
- 1,920 Hz refresh, 1/8 scan: no banding when the wall is filmed for news, social video or a corporate shoot — the usual reason a fixed screen draws complaints after installation.
- IP43 rated cabinet: a sheltered-position rating — under a canopy, inside a recess, or on a facade turned away from the prevailing weather.
- Rear service: modules and power supplies are replaced from behind the cabinet. Plan roughly 600 mm of walkway behind the screen, or ask for a front-service frame if the wall is flush against a building.
- Muen power supply, Novastar control: standard sending cards and Novastar software, so the wall drops into an existing control room instead of needing a proprietary player.
- 200–240VAC 60 Hz: a fixed 200-240 V 60 Hz supply as specified — for 50 Hz sites the ASL series is the safer order.

ASE5 in the Outdoor Fixed Range
Three series share the same 960 mm cabinet geometry, so you can compare them on one page:
| Parameter | Cabinet / electrical |
|---|---|
| ASE5 | IP43 · 4,000 nits · 100 mm deep · 200–240VAC 60 Hz |
| ASL5 | IP65 · 5,000 nits · 140 mm deep · 110/220VAC 50/60 Hz switchable |
If the face takes rain directly, or the site runs on a 50 Hz supply, the ASL is the correct series — it is IP65, brighter, and ships with a switchable 110/220 V supply.
Cabinet Count for Common Wall Sizes
Because a 960 mm cabinet does not divide round numbers evenly, every wall ends up a little larger than the drawing. This is what the ASE5 actually builds to at four common sizes:
| Target size | Cabinet matrix | Active area | Resolution |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 × 3 m | 5 × 4 = 20 cabinets | 4.80 × 3.84 m (18.43 m²) | 960 × 768 px |
| 6 × 3 m | 7 × 4 = 28 cabinets | 6.72 × 3.84 m (25.80 m²) | 1,344 × 768 px |
| 8 × 4 m | 9 × 5 = 45 cabinets | 8.64 × 4.80 m (41.47 m²) | 1,728 × 960 px |
| 10 × 5 m | 11 × 6 = 66 cabinets | 10.56 × 5.76 m (60.83 m²) | 2,112 × 1,152 px |

FAQ
Q: How many cabinets do I need for a 6 m × 3 m wall?
A: The 960 mm cabinet does not divide 6,000 mm evenly, so the wall lands on 7 columns × 4 rows = 28 cabinets, giving an active area of 6.72 m × 3.84 m (25.80 m²). Send the target size and we return the exact cabinet matrix plus the steel frame drawing.
Q: How much space do I need behind the screen?
A: The cabinet is 100 mm deep and serviced from the rear, so allow roughly 600 mm of clear walkway for module and power-supply replacement. If that is impossible, say so at quotation stage and we quote a front-service frame instead.
Q: Can I mix 5 pitch with another pitch in one wall?
A: Yes — mixed-pitch walls are common when a client wants finer resolution in the centre and coarser panels at the edges. Keep the same LED bin and brightness level across all panels, or the seams show as colour steps under a camera.
Q: What is included in the shipment?
A: Cabinets, modules already fitted, power supplies, receiving cards and the connecting cables. Sending cards, video processors and the steel structure are quoted separately because they depend on the wall geometry and the signal source.
Q: P5 or P4 — is the extra density worth it?
A: Only if people stand within about 4 m of the wall. At 5 m and beyond the two look the same at normal viewing angles, and P5 puts 36% more pixels per cabinet area at a lower cost. Take P4 when the wall is at pavement level; take P5 when it is above head height.
